1. Find your industry by line of business or by SIC and NAICS code and select an industry report from the search results:
2. Key Ratios are under the Key Statistics tab located near the bottom of the Table of Contents on the left side of the results page..
Locate reports, summaries, and profiles of industries and companies using the Industry Research drop down at the top of the page
Locate a SWOT analysis for industries by searching a specific industry. Click on the industry name. Click on the Industry at a Glance drop down and select SWOT in the Industry
Below are the instructions for locating key business ratios for individual companies:
Provides detailed business descriptions, corporate histories, competitor information, and financial statements for many U.S. and non-U.S. public companies, as well as overall industry reports for North America and other regions.
Enter company name or ticker symbol.
On "Company Details" page, select the Company Financials tab
Choose Ratios
Select the date range using the drop down menu; click Refresh
To compare against a company's industry peers:
Select the Report Builder tab, then click the sub-tab Comparison Reports
Select Peer Group classification and scope.
Under "Select comparison report type," choose all companies
Check Active Companies Only
Under "Report Item Selection," choose the desired ratios (click on the plus sign to view), moving each to the "Report Items" box, and select the year.
Check the Include average box as well.
Choose a format from the drop-down box and click on Create Report
Click on Log out in the upper right corner of the page when you are finished searching.
Search Tips
On the Basic Search screen, search for company information by company name or stock symbol.
From the Company Details page, use the blue tabs along the top of the page to access various kinds of information, including History, Company Financials, etc.
If your company does not appear on the results list, try searching for it by the holding company name, if applicable.
To locate relevant industry information, search by Primary SIC code or Primary NAICS code.
Use the code lookup to identify SIC/NAICS codes.
The "Country Profile" box in the lower right corner of the main page provides comprehensive economic and statistical information on countries.
For help using and searching in the database, click on Help in the upper right corner of the screen.
Below are the instructions for locating key business ratios for individual companies:
Supplies 14 key business ratios covering the areas of solvency, efficiency, and profitability and allows for company/industry ratio comparisons. Formerly Dun & Bradstreet.
Select the Ratios tab at the top of the page.
Select your industry from the SIC drop down menu (e.g. 4581 - Airports) OR If your industry doesn’t appear (e.g. “Airlines”):
Enter the SIC (for Air Transportation, enter 45)
Click on Submit. Ratios listed will include industries within this primary SIC number. For Airlines this will include industries starting with “45” such as Airport Operations (4581).
For current ratios, click on the Icon next to the number (e.g. “45”) appearing in the SIC column.
Ratios for prior years may be found in the print “RMA Annual Statement Studies” (Ref HF 5681.B2 R58) using NAICS codes.
Search Tips
Click the Reports or Ratios headings in the top right corner to search for and view data.
Use the SIC and Line of Business drop-down menus or search by NAICS to focus your results.
