Find a Standard

The Hunt Library strives to obtain standards relevant to the academic curriculum. However, many industry standards are unavailable due to organization restrictions. Please consult the list of standards below to see if any contain the information you are seeking.

AIAA Aerospace Research Central (ARC)

Journals, ebooks and papers published by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
- Users can only view standards online in the HTML viewer. We do not have PDF access.

ASCE Library

Research from the American Society of Civil Engineers, including journals, conference proceedings, books and standards.

ASME Standards Collection

Standards from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Good to Know
- Use the Click here to access via institutional account link at the top-right side for access.
- Overview and detailed search instructions can be found by clicking Help in the upper right corner.
- Sign up for a free personal account to use features like Annotations, Bookmarks, Tags, and Markers.
- Printing is limited to 50 pages at a time.
Search Tips
- Searchable by document number, text ,or by using pre-selected categories.
- Other versions of reports will be listed after the active document.
ASTM Compass

ASTM’s standards (both current and historical versions) and many UNE and EN versions of ISO and IEC standards.
- Read the License Agreement and decide whether you accept the terms or not. If so, click on the I Agree and Continue button. If not, close the database.
- Users must create a free account to use tools such as bookmarking, annotating, and sharing. To create a free account, click on Sign In/Register at the top right.
ICAO eLibrary

Public access (read-only) to the publications repository of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), featuring Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) on international civil aviation, Conventions and Related Acts. Free registration required.
- Free registration is required. Click Register in the top right corner.
  - Registration allows use of the My Notes, My Highlights, and My Bookmarks features.
- Provides read-only, public access to ICAO's regulatory and legal documents
- Content is available in all six official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish).
IEEE Xplore Digital Library

Journals, magazines, conference proceedings, transactions and standards in areas such as electrical engineering, computer science, electronics, media and more.

Metallic Materials Properties Development and Standardization (MMPDS) Handbook (via Engineering Workbench)

Reference guide for metallic materials used in aerospace components, structures, and applications.
National Fire Codes

National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, standards, and handbooks. Current and previous document versions are included.

SAE Mobilus

Technical papers, standards, ebooks, and related publications from SAE International.

Free ISO & IEC Standards for Classroom Use

The ANSI University Outreach Program provides, upon request, complimentary access for U.S. faculty and students in institutions of higher learning certain standards currently available in the ISO collection. If needed, select standards from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) may also be made available.
