EAGLEsearch Help

Refining your search in EAGLEsearch

The benefit of using EAGLEsearch is that it searches both our physical collection (materials available in the library), as well as many of the library's research databases all at once from a single search box; however, with that comes the possibility of having too many search results.  Using the filters in the left-hand column of the results page, you can quickly refine and narrow your results down to a more manageable list.

Limit your results

Quickly limit your results by selecting any of the options under “Limit Your Results."

  • Full Text Online – Items that provide the entire text of a document
  • Scholarly & Peer-Review – Items that are research-focused (Video Tutorial)
  • Peer-Review – Items that are both research-focused but are also categorized by a rigorous approval process of peers (experts in the field)
  • Library Catalog – Items listed in the library’s online catalog, which include both physical and electronic materials

Content type

Quickly narrow your results by selecting or deselecting any of the content types or by selecting More... to view additional content types.

Publication date

Use the slider to select a range of years, or click on the from and to fields, or calendar icons, to select a specific date range.

Discipline

Quickly narrow your results by selecting or deselecting any of the discipline types or by selecting More... to view additional disciplines.

Language

Narrow your results by selecting a particular language or by selecting More... to view additional languages.

EXPANDING YOUR RESULTS

If you're not finding as many results as you would like, you can search beyond the Hunt Library's collections by selecting the box Add results beyond your library's collection located above your search results.

This will list results including resources to which the library does not subscribe. For items that are citation only, contact Ask a Librarian to get help with locating the item.
