Find Data

Many high-quality sources of data sets are freely available online. Find both free repositories, library subscribed resources, and those that charge a fee for data here. Data-intensive databases, useful for discovering statistics, are limited to ERAU students, faculty, and staff.

GSS Data Explorer
The General Social Survey (GSS) is a project of NORC at the University of Chicago, with principal funding from the National Science Foundation. Since 1972, the GSS has been monitoring societal change and studying the growing complexity of American society.
ICPSR
ICPSR maintains a data archive of more than 250,000 files of research in the social and behavioral sciences. It hosts 21 specialized collections of data in education, aging, criminal justice, substance abuse, terrorism, and other fields.
OECD.Stat
International data collected by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. Data includes topics such as demographics, industry, labor, productivity, and more.
Population Reference Bureau
Population Reference Bureau (PRB) provides the latest demographic data for the world, global regions, and more than 200 countries and territories.

Registry of Research Data Repositories.
World Bank Open Data
Free and open access to data on global development indicators, education statistics, gender topics, health information, and more.
Google Dataset Search
Use Google to search for datasets. Some datasets are behind a paywall while others are open access.

Cirium

Aviation and aerospace industry news, data and other related information services. Contains technical and operational information on a range of sectors including defense, business aviation, finance, MRO, spaceflight and training.
- If you experience difficulty accessing any part of this database, clear your Internet browser's cache and cookies.
- NETWORKS tab data is limited to only scheduled routes information and no network analysis.
- To return to the main page, click the CIRIUM logo in the upper left corner of any page.
Search Tips
- To perform a simple keyword search, click the magnifying glass icon in the upper left corner of the home page to open the Search box, enter the desired terms, and press the Enter key.
- Use an asterisk (*) at the end of the root of a word to find all variants: fuel* will find fuels, fueling, etc.
- Enclose terms in quotation marks to search for exact phrases: “alternative fuels”
- Click the NEWS tab in the menu bar to limit general news articles by category, date, location, and article type. (If the Search box is open, click the upward arrow to close it and reveal the News and other tabs.)
- Click the COMPANIES tab to locate company profiles for airlines, airports, and MRO providers.
- Click the INDUSTRY UPDATES tab to limit industry news articles by category and date.
- Click the FLEETS tab to locate fleet data by market groupings (i.e., type of aircraft), manufacturer, and geographic location.
- Click the REPORTS tab for full-text reports on various topics, as well as issues of the trade publications Airline Business and Flight International.
Statista

A multitude of international statistics on populations, industries, economics, media, opinion, companies, politics, lifestyles, and many other topics. Includes ready-made statistical charts, graphs, and tables.

ICAO Data+

International airline and airport statistics from the International Civil Aviation Organization.
Good to Know
- Limited to one user at a time. Please click the Sign out button when finished.
- Not all air carriers or airports are ICAO members. You may not find data for every air carrier and airport in the database.
- From within each data table, click the printer icon to print or the Excel icon to download the data to Excel format.
Search Tips
- Click the Modules link near the top center of the page to access the subscribed Data+ modules.
- The subscribed Data+ modules include:

  - Air Carrier Personnel
  - Air Carrier Finances

- Click the Launch button next to the module you wish to view.
- From within each data table, click the Reset button to undo your selections.
- For help using and searching in the database, click the FAQ link at the top right or center bottom of any page.
  - Be sure to click and explore the different headings at the top of the FAQ section, such as Data, Carrier Traffic, TFS, etc.
  - From the FAQ section, scroll down and click the Glossary button for detailed definitions of specialized terms used in the database.
  - To view the data sources and dates covered, from the FAQ section, scroll down and click the ICAO Data Notes button.

Data.gov
Search thousands of US federal datasets on a wide range of topics including agriculture, climate, energy, local government, maritime, ocean, older adult health, and more.
Data.gov.sg
The one-stop portal to Singapore's publicly-available datasets from 70 public agencies. Search for data on topics including: education, economy, environment, finance, health, infrastructure, society, technology, and transportation.
Department of Statistics Singapore
Data and statistics from the Singapore Department of Statistics (DOS) on topics including: employment, wages, productivity, health, culture, recreation, and many more.
UN Human Development Data
International data related to education, gender, health, income, and more.
UNSD Statistical Databases
A single entry point to all of the United Nation's statistical databases; includes economics, census, and trade databases.
WHO Global Health Observatory
World Health Organization data on health topics such as COVID-19, maternal and infant health, mental health, and more.

Occasionally you may find data sets in published literature. Unfortunately, the citation of research data is often incomplete. Sometimes the best you will get is the title of the data set used, but check to see if the data or a related publication are cited and follow it up.

ICPSR Bibliography of Data-Related Literature
The ICPSR Bibliography is a searchable database of known published and unpublished works resulting from analyses of data distributed in ICPSR studies. Freely-available and continually updated, the database currently contains 93,797 citations.

Web of Science

Provides access to citation/abstract details for hundreds of thousands of worldwide publications such as journals (including open access journals), conference papers, books, and book chapters. Includes journal impact factors in the Journal Citation Reports tab.
- Web of Science includes a subscription to Journal Citation Reports (JCR), a tool which analyzes citation references, measures research influence and impact at the journal and category levels, and shows the relationship between citing and cited journals.
