Grants

Grants and scholarships are both forms of financial assistance awarded to students based on a variety of factors and needs. Grants tend to be based on measurements of financial need, while scholarships tend to be based on some form of merit.

While all sources of funding, grants and scholarships differ from student loans in one very significant way. Unlike loans, grants and scholarships do not need to be repaid.

Grant Tips

Fill out that FAFSA! Complete your FAFSA application as soon as possible since some schools award aid on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sweat the details! Pay special attention to grant eligibility requirements and application deadlines.
