As you begin to identify items for your research using Google Scholar, it's important to save any items you might like to use later. Google Scholar provides a couple of ways to easily save results such as saving to your personal library in Google Scholar, or by importing your items into a citation manager such as RefWorks or EndNote.
The save button allows you to save any item located in Google Scholar to your personal library.
To locate items in your Google Scholar library, click on My Library in the top right corner of the page.
To help manage your library items, use the icons along the top.
Google Scholar provides several ways to save items to a citation management tool whether directly or through a BibTeX or RefMan (RIS) file.
The Cite icon located directly beneath an item provides the citation for that item from five popular citation styles - MLA, APA, Chicago, Harvard, and Vancouver - and options to export the citation to EndNote, RefWorks, or as a BibTeX or RefMan (RIS) file, which you can then upload into a citation manger of choice.
Other than exporting an item individually or in bulk using the export feature in My Library, you can also set up Google Scholar to import an item directly to EndNote or RefWorks, or downloading a BibTeX or RefMan (RIS) file to your computer or device. To select your preferred citation manager or file type, do the following:
Once a bibliography manager has been assigned, you can then save to that manager of choice whether directly or by downloading the appropriate file type.
