- 1 source must be peer-reviewed
- At least 3 of 5 sources must be scholarly* (academic journal articles or academic book chapters; your peer-reviewed source counts as 1 of 3)
- 1 source may be a creator interview*
- 1 source may be author biography*
Formula for the annotations:
- MLA citation
- First 2-3 sentences: summarize the source's argument
- Next 2-3 sentences: explain how you will use the source to support your analysis of the primary text
- Last sentence: connect to another secondary source (one of the other sources you are annotating)
