Tips:
Many databases offer the ability to sort search results. Look for limiters like Lexile Score, page count, or short/medium/long to help narrow down results.
Choosing material from magazines and newspapers can be beneficial since the type of writing used is more common and easy to understand.
Full text of reference books including encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, etc., on a broad range of subjects covering art, history, law, psychology, science and technology.

Search Tips
Search by Keyword using the dialog box next to "Search for".
View Books using "Find a Book" at the top of the page and select a subject area from the left hand side of the screen. Click on the title of the book to view.
For help using and searching in the database, click on Help in the upper right corner of the screen.
Do a keyword search.
In the results page, using the left-hand menu, select Length.

Search Tips
Use an asterisk (*) at the end of the root of a word to find all variants: pilot* will find pilot, pilots, piloting, etc.
When two or more words are entered, the database will search for them as an exact phrase. If you wish to avoid this, place AND between the words.
Browse books by clicking on one of the subjects in the center of the page. Click on a title to view the book then choose Table of Contents to access chapters of the book.

Once on the Advanced Search page, you can use the dropdown menus to select a Target Audience or a Content Level.
Business Collection provides coverage of all business disciplines, including accounting, economics, finance, marketing, management and strategy, as well as business theory and practice.
You will be directed to the Advanced Search page.
Scroll towards the bottom of the search page for the by Lexile reading level dropdown menu and select the desired reading level.
Put in keywords and do a search. Your search should contain only results with the Lexile level you selected on the Advanced Search page.
To create a free EBSCOhost account and access additional features such as saving preferences, research organization and sharing, saving and retrieving search history, etc., click on the Sign in link in the upper right corner of any page.
Articles in HTML format can be read aloud using the Text-To-Speech feature.
Search Tips
Enclose terms in quotation marks to search for exact phrases: “consumer behavior”
Use the asterisk (*) to find variant endings of a root word: comput* will find computer, computers, computing, etc.
Use the options in the Refine Search section on the left to further focus your results.
To search for company information, first perform a basic search using the company name. When the results page appears, click on the desired company name under Company Information on the right.

If full text is not available, copy the records you want, paste them into an email, and send them to library@erau.edu. Please include:
Your name
Daytime phone number
Course number
Whether you’re an undergraduate, graduate, or PhD student
Whether you’re a Daytona Beach or Worldwide student
Once in the database, scroll (beneath the search bar) until you see the drop-down menu for Number of Pages to narrow down search results by page count.
Selecting Publication Type may also be beneficial.
NewsBank
Access to this database has ceased. Contact Ask a Librarian for help.
NewsBank is especially good for finding material for reading since newspapers tend to have easier-to-read language.
Once in the database, click your desired geographical area.
Use keywords to search.
