EAGLEsearch Help

Finding videos in EAGLEsearch

Searching for videos in EAGLEsearch allows users to search both our physical collection (videos available in the library), as well as streaming videos located in our subscription databases (i.e. Academic Video Online, Films On Demand, etc.).

Search results

Each video on the results page will provide a title, author (personal or group/organizational), date, partial abstract (if available), content type and location.  To view additional information about the video such as publisher, date, genre, subjects, etc., hover over or click on the more information link.

Content type

Searching for videos in EAGLEsearch will limit your results to those listed simply as Video Recording or Streaming Video.

Item locations

Any videos listed in the search results of a videos search will provide one of the following locations (to the right of the content type):

  • Full Text Online
  • Citation Online
  • available, Hunt Library
  • not available, Hunt Library

Full Text Online will link to the electronic (streaming) version of that video in one of our research databases or on the publisher's website. In some cases, it may link to an item details page, which should provide a link to the streaming version of that video.

Citation Online only provides the citation for that video and not the full text (streaming version); however, that does not mean we may not have access to the video elsewhere.  Please contact Ask a Librarian for assistance in trying to obtain it.

available, Hunt Library or not available, Hunt Library are for videos from our physical collection (DVD or VHS)  that have been given a call number (i.e. UG1242.D7 R56 2013 DVD) location and that are located in the Hunt Library. Selecting either link will lead you to the item details page for that item providing more information about it.
