Open Educational Resources

Open Educational Resources (OER) are free and openly licensed educational materials that can be used for teaching, learning, research, and more. This Guide provides information on using OERs in your courses, tools to locate OERs by type and topic.

Subject-Specific Searching

Subject specific resources may be a better way to start searching if:

  • You are looking for more specialized topics,
  • You are having difficulty finding the right materials with general search tools,
  • You have already gone through the general libraries and search tools, or
  • You want to explore resources tailored to your discipline.

Resources are broken up by broad subject area.  Some topics may fall between subjects, so you may find useful resources listed under related topics.

These resources also include supplemental material such as simulations, test banks, and case studies. More general supplements may be found in:

  • Education and Pedagogy - includes resources on open educational practices and open assessments.
  • Images, Media, and Supplements - includes free-to-use resources for presentations, class projects, and creating OER materials.

These resource lists are not exhaustive.  For more help finding materials, contact Hunt Library.
